Requirements for Portuguese Minor

Before declaring the minor, students must complete PORT 0001 / PORT 1001, Elementary Portuguese, or take a placement test.

PORT 0002 / PORT 1002, Elementary Portuguese, 2
PORT 0003 / PORT 1003, Intermediate Portuguese
PORT 0004 / PORT 1004, Intermediate Portuguese, 2
PORT 0020, Advanced Conversation
PORT 0025, Advanced Grammar and Composition

Students must declare their intention to pursue the minor at General Advising by the time they apply for graduation.

NOTE: Since these courses must be taken in sequence and not concurrently, students should expect to take three years to complete the minor. Students with an interest Portuguese as a minor field should begin their studies no later than their sophomore year.
