Regional conferences of the IILI will be formally proposed by members of cultural or educational institutions associated with the IILI, and who wish to organize these events in accord with the IILI’s guidelines.

Regional conferences should be held in years alternating with those in which the international conferences of the IILI take place. Proposals should be submitted to the IILI between September and December of each year. The dates, themes, and dimensions of these conferences will be determined by the conference organizers.

Proposals should include the names of the organizing committee members (who should be members of the IILI), the theme of the proposed conference, as well as details concerning the location of conference sessions, the estimated number of participants, and the source of financing for the conference.

After considering received proposals, the IILI will indicate whether the conference has been approved, in which case it will be presented under the auspices of the IILI. The IILI will assist the organizing committee of each regional conference with preparation and promotion.

A select number of the papers presented at regional conferences will be published by the IILI in a special volume of Revista Iberoamericana.

The IILI reserves the right to reject proposals that, at the discretion of the Directorial Board, do not comply with the indispensable requirements for IILI-sponsored conferences.
