This volume focuses on the newspapers, reading culture and readers during the nineteenth century. The approach seeks to develop the topic not so much from an ideological point of view but rather from the point of view of material practices. The goal is to elaborate a collective reflection on the newspaper as a new and crucial apparatus in the discursive dynamics of nineteenth century Latin America.
