![]() SARAH WILLIAMSMA Applied Linguistics, University of Southern California Room 1317B, Cathedral of Learning Sarah Williams graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a self-designed major in liberal studies and a certificate in Latin American studies in 1984. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Southern California where she obtained a master's degree in applied linguistics in 1988. While at USC she received training in and taught English as a second language. Upon completing her master's degree, Sarah moved to Spain where she resided for eight years before relocating to the United States. In Spain she taught English as a foreign language at the Universidad Europea de Madrid for several years after having taught for different language academies and worked as in-house translator for Coopers & Lybrand for 2 1/2 years. When she moved back to Pittsburgh, Sarah joined the Department of Hispanic Languages and Literatures where she has worked as a part-time instructor for five years before being appointed as a visiting lecturer this year. For two of these years she has also worked for the Department of Instruction and Learning as a supervisor for individuals fulfilling the student teaching requirement in order to become certified teachers for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. |
