WHAT ARE CORE COURSES?
CORE COURSES (up to 15 Credits)

All students are required to complete core courses from a variety of fields in the social sciences. At the introductory level, these are designed to provide background and context.  In upper level (advanced) core courses, students have the opportunity to develop more specialized knowledge in a number of fields/disciplines.  Core courses are not designed to be area specific but rather to present cross-regional connections and thematic depth.

   Core courses include:

• Courses that provide political and historical context (3 credits);
• Courses that provide geographic/cultural/social context (3 credits);
• Advanced topical courses (9 credits);
