I. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the last meeting of UCGS are attached for your review.

II. Evaluation of the Academic Programs in the Department of Biological Sciences
The report of the Subcommittee on the Evaluation of Academic Programs (see attached) will be presented by the liaison, Paula Baker. Dr. David Burgess, Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences, and Stephen Weber, Chair of the Internal Review Committee, will attend the meeting at 3:00pm to answer any questions concerning the report. Any member who wishes to review the Internal Review Committee Report, the External Review Committee Report, and the Department's response in 801 C.L. should contact Paula Janikowski.

III. Proposal for the Establishment of a Department of Bioengineering
The proposal to establish a Department of Bioengineering within the School of Engineering is attached. The proposal is being sent to UCGS for review because several existing interdisciplinary graduate programs will be administered by this new department in the future. The Dean of the School of Engineering, Jerry Holder, will join UCGS at 3:30pm to present the rationale for this change.

IV. Evaluation of the Graduate Programs in the Department of Psychology in Education
The report of the Subcommittee on the Evaluation of Academic Programs (see attached) will be presented. Dr. Anthony Nitko, Chair of the Department of Psychology in Education, and Donald McBurney, Chair of the Internal Review Committee, will join the meeting at 4:00pm to answer any questions concerning the report. Any member who wishes to review the Internal Review Committee Report, the External Review Committee Report, and the Department's Response in 801 C.L. should contact Paula Janikowski.

V. Reports of the Chairs of Committees and of GPSA Representative
A progress report by chairs of committees and by the GPSA representative will be made, if appropriate.
