Assessment of Research-Doctorate Programs
Timeline
Data will be collected in the fall term of 2006 and early in the spring term of 2007 through questionnaires developed for the institution, academic programs, faculty, and graduate students. The timeline for data collection is below. UPDATED as of 4/2/07. To view the full text of the updated procedures and timeines, click here.
November 15, 2006 - All finalized faculty and student lists must be submitted to the NRC by the Provost's Office.
November 15, 2006 - Program Questionnaires will be made available via the web to all participating programs. All data should be entered into the Program Questionnaire by January 5, 2007. The Provost's Office will complete the final submission process for all Program Questionnaires.
December 2006 - Faculty Questionnaires will be made available to faculty members in participating programs. Faculty members will receive a username and password for the web-based survey via U.S. Mail at their department address. Deadline for completion of the questionnaire is February 15, 2007 in order to be considered for the Survey of Program Quality.
January 5, 2006 - Deadline for Deans to inform the Provost's Office that Program Questionnaires are ready for final submission.
January 15, 2006 - Deadline to submit Faculty Questionnaires.
January 15, 2006 - Deadline for Provost's Office to submit final versions of Program and Institutional Questionnaires.
April 9, 2007 - Student Questionnaires will be made available to admitted-to-candidacy doctoral students in the following fields: economics, English, chemical engineering, neuroscience, and physics. Students will receive a username and password for the web-based survey via U.S. Mail. Deadline for completion of the questionnaire is April 30, 2007.
April 9, 2007 - The Rating Questionnaire, or Survey of Program Quality, will be made available online. Faculty from each field of study in the NRC Assessment will be selected randomly and asked to complete the Survey of Program Quality. Those faculty members selected will receive an invitation to participate via e-mail.
