II. Review of a Proposal to Establish a Doctoral Program in Immunology
The first sections of this proposal are attached. Only the first seven appendices were reproduced. Appendices 8 - 14 are available in the Office of the Provost if any UCGS member would like to review them. Dr. Susan McCarthy, Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of the proposed program, will attend the meeting to answer questions. The complete proposal was reviewed by the Graduate Procedures Committee at its meeting on February 13 together with the proposal to change the name of four doctoral programs. I attach a copy of the letter I sent to the Committee trying to explain how these proposal are interrelated. I also attach a copy of the letter from the chair of this committee stating their recommendations. Note that they ask for some additional written material and that will be delivered to you on Monday.

III. Review of a Proposal to Change the Name of Four Doctoral Programs
The proposal to change the name of four doctoral programs in the School of Medicine is attached. As stated in II, I also attach my letter to the Graduate Procedures Committee and the letter detailing the recommendation of the Graduate Procedures Committee. Dr. Ian Reynolds, Associate Dean and a member of UCGS, will answer questions on this proposal.
