3. Academicians in Zhejiang to enjoy better treatment

  Hangzhou, April 30 (CNS) -- Academicians of the Chinese
  Academy of Sciences and the Chinese  Academy of
  Engineering in Zhejiang will get more subsidies and enjoy the
  treatment granted to officials at deputy provincial governor
  level, announced Li Zemin, Zhejiang Provincial Party
  Secretary at Zhejiang Science and Technology Working
  Conference  held in Hangzhou recently.
  
  Li promised to grant an " Academician Subsidy" and the same
  medical and housing treatment enjoyed by high-ranking
  officials to academicians in the Province, which has evoked
  strong repercussions among locals.
  
  The said " Academician Subsidy" will be RMB 1,000 per head
  every month. Medical and housing treatment include a no less
  than 150 square metre apartment, staying in single-bed wards
  and  in hospitals when they are ill and receiving medical
  service at home provided by experts.
  
  Zhejiang government hopes to direct the whole society to
  further  respect  talented people through the move.
