Academicians make scientific and technological reports http://www.chinanews.com/news/9603/18/031810aa.eng Beijing, March 18 (CNS) -- Zhou Guangzhao, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered a scientific and technological report to leading cadres. Many more academicians from a wide variety of scientific and technological disciplines will shortly do the same. Some 600 leading officials including Zou Jiahua, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Vice Premier, Party cadres and State Council department heads together with the division heads attended the inaugural hearing held at the new science and technology hall. Series of events is co-sponsored by the Organization Department of CPC, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Academy of Engineering and the China Association for Science and Technology. Academicians from the world of science and technology have been invited to submit their reports on important social and economic topics as well as on scientific and technological development. The subjects include agriculture, energy and urban transport. The academicians have to submit a detailed and proactive paper on their individual subjects to leading Party and government officials. Twenty more papers were also delivered in 12 main cities including Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Nanjing.
