Dear Officers, Local Presidents and Delegates:
I greet you in the matchless name of "Jesus." I also greet you with a sense of urgency as we continue on a road that has been extremely busy and challenging, realizing we still have a ways to go this conference year.
The following activities are before us:
For us to successfully uphold our responsibilities in these various activities requires unity and cooperation. We can begin by having 100% participation at our next Regular meeting at Trinity on June 8.
Attendance has been noticeably spotty by a number of officers and local presidents in particular. Board and Fifth Sunday meetings are not optional for officers and local presidents. We need everyone's input and participation. If you are a delegate to General Conference (Ogden, Miott, Battle, Hart, Johnson, Thomas, Bryant, Andrews, Powell and Nettles) or the 3rd District Annual meeting (Ogden, Hart, Peeks, Taylor, Walker, Johnson, Carver, Nettles) you should be present at this meeting. There is information of importance to be shared.
Tickets to the 3rd District celebration with the Belin's are available through your pastor. Cost $30. Reservations at the Hyatt Regency (where the affair will be held) by persons arriving on Friday can be made by calling 1-800-233-1234. Ask for the AME group rate. If you wish to make a personal contribution to the 3rd District Economic Development Project, see your pastor for details.
I have tickets for anyone interested in attending the Joseph C. McKinney retirement affair. Cost $40.
Please reserve June 8 for the lay. Local Presidents bring your lay activities director and other members to the meeting.
