Summer, 1998 - present Mentor for High School Students and or High School Science Teachers Magee Womens Research Institute Summer High School Research Program provides opportunities for student to participate in biomedical research. The students complete a four week hands on research project. During Student Research Day the students formally present their findings to an audience of parents and faculty. The program provides students with both an opportunity to participate in novel research as well as teaching them how to discuss scientific findings
2001 Chatham College Internship Program Sarah Flurschutz, a Biology major worked on a project entitled “Isolated arteries as a model for preeclampsia”
April - July, 2002 University of Pittsburgh, Medical Student Research Aliya Rogers, worked on a summer project entitled “ Hyperuricemia mediates some of the vascular abnormalities in preeclampsia”
Summer, 2003 College Student Research Program at MWRI Christina Stamoolis developed an animal model to study the impact of hyperuricemia on vascular function using rats
