Accompanied by my entire family, I taught a load of courses on the Fall 1999 Voyage of Semester at Sea while it was still at the University of Pittsburgh. While on the voyage, I created what I now know is a blog, complete with 500 photos and commentary as we went. The blog site is available here at http://www.pitt.edu/~atsea It is a distant but extremely vivid and fond memory. Building the site during the trip helped me process the adventure. I headed for an Internet cafe at each of the 10 ports over the 14 weeks armed with floppy disks and WS_FTP. Three computers, a digital camcorder, and a CD burner helped make the site possible. |
