Bibliography

Books and Exhibition Catalogs on Lesbian and Gay Art and Artists

This is a selective listing of materials available as of January 15, 1997. Only titles in which sexual orientation or the artists' sexuality in relation to his/her life are discussed are listed. Other titles that do not discuss an artist's sexuality, and are, therefore, not listed here.  The bibliography does not currently include journal articles, dissertations, Masters theses, or essays. The addition of these materials may be possible in the future.

This listing is under construction and will be periodically updated. It may also be possible to categorize titles on this list to make it more beneficial to users (i.e. sections on the Classical World, film, etc.). Suggestions (full citations, please) and comments are welcome. Please send them to: Ray Anne Lockard, Head Librarian, Frick Fine Arts Library, University of Pittsburgh (frickart+@pitt.edu).
