Submission Policy Ethnology welcomes articles by scholars of any country on any aspect of cultural anthropology. Theoretical or methodological discussions, however, will be published if they relate to substantive data. Manuscripts Two manuscript copies should be submitted, double-spaced throughout, with liberal margins, and should be about 30-35 typescript pages, including an abstract and several key terms. Notes should be used sparingly and be assembled at the end of the text. Sources cited will be listed in a separate bibliography, and references to them in the text will appear in parenthetical form; e.g., (Benedict 1935:153). Manuscripts may also be submitted electronically by email attachment or on high-density diskette. Do not use footnote, endnote, or bibliography programs. Authors may consult published issues of the journal for guidance in preparing manuscripts in Ethnology’s format. Non-subscribers should also submit a nonrefundable processing fee of U.S. $20 by check payable to University of Pittsburgh. Upon notification of acceptance of manuscripts, authors should submit final drafts of papers electronically or on diskette, preferably in Word or WordPerfect format. Copy for line drawings and tables must be submitted in a form suitable for photo-engraving. Proofs of accepted manuscripts will be sent to the authors, but excessive changes will be billed to them. Authors, upon request, may order 100 offprints at cost. Unaccepted manuscripts will be returned only if the sender includes a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Ethnology |
