Mark Collins is the full-time coordinator and advisor for the environmental studies major, and teaches the W-Directed Reading course (GEOL 1313, Communication for Environmental Professionals), a required writing course for environmental studies majors.

An award-winning writer and instructor, Collins previously worked as a writer and writing instructor; he is the author of two books and coeditor of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood: Children, Television, and Fred Rogers, published by the University of Pittsburgh Press. He has served on a variety of University-wide committees, including the excellence in teaching seminars. He earned his Master in Fine Arts degree from Pitt, and is a miserable hockey player.
