ENGR 0715: Engineering Applications for Society

Eric Workman

A picture of me from ENGR 0715

I am from Stoneboro, PA, and I went to Lakeview High School. I am interested in electronics, computer hardware, video editing, films in general, and games. I have worked for the past two years at a computer repair shop, and while there I saw a battle between Intel and AMD, the two largest processor manufacturers. I decided to go into Electrical Engineering in order to design microprocessors, to be a part of this battle, or the similar one going on in the video card industry. I have been playing with electricity for years, and I decided I would make something of that interest by choosing electrical engineering. I hope to be able to continue playing with electricity and to learn how to apply it to different situations.

I enjoy and spend a lot of times with games. My current favorites are Call of Duty 4, Warcraft 3, and D&D. Besides my love for computers, I have interests in medieval weaponry, tactics, technology, roleplaying, and other geek activities. I practice sparring with friends in Stoneboro, and I am a nonparticipating member of a local medieval group (I have yet to actually do anything with the group, unfortunately). I have also developed a liking for certain theatre performances, and my girlfriend and I travel to the City Theatre in Southside to attend a play or two occasionally. I have also found The Rocky Horror Picture Show an interesting experience.

I am the oldest of two in my family. My brother Travis is a sophomore at Lakeview. My parents are Julie and Steve. My girlfriend is Nina Blagys, who also attends Pitt, and she is undecided in her major. I currently work for Gary Auerbach in Sandy Lake, PA.
