Lecture Description:

  This lecture is designed to introduce the basic concepts underlying disasters from natural hazards and the injuries that are related to them. Specific focus is placed on the injuries that arise from hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes.


  On completion of the lecture, readers will be able to:

  • Identify the injuries that commonly arise from hurrican disasters
  • Identify the injuries that commonly arise from tornadoes
  • Identify the injuries that commonly arise from earthquakes
  • Identify mitigation strategies for specific natural disasters to reduce impact
