Lecture Description:

  This lecture will review various forms of study designs used in injury research. Illustrative examples from the current literature will be presented to discuss design issues, strengths, weaknesses, and areas of bias.


  On completion of the lecture, readers will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between descriptive and analytic studies
  • Identify the differing forms of descriptive study designs
  • Identify the differing forms of analytic study designs
