Lecture Description:

  This lecture is designed to introduce models and frameworks for looking at injury, highlight the role of collaboration in injury prevention efforts, and introduce the notion that a variety of factors contribute to injury prevention. These issues are part of the foundation of injury prevention understanding.


  On completion of the lecture, readers will be able to:

  • Describe how conceptual models can be used to investigate and portray the multiple factors underlying injury and/or violence
  • Explain the importance of collaboration in prevention efforts
  • Describe the influence of a variety of factors on injury prevention
