Question 1: I am interested in joining Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated what do I do next?
There is not a set way to express interest in becoming a member but a good start would be:

1. Research - read the book In Search of Sisterhood by Paula Giddings, and Click Here to check national website.
2. Attend campus events
3. Take any opportunity to interact with and get to know the members

Question 2: What qualifications are necessary to become a member?
While having the qualifications is necessary, it does not guarantee being offered membership. Our goal is to select women who not only meet the basic requirements, but also exceed them. Deltas continue the tradition of excellence in all aspects. Therefore, Delta Sigma Theta invites all women to apply who exhibit excellent personal and professional character with high moral code, who have a commitment to giving back in service to the community. Qualifications are :

1. Minimum 2.75 QPA
2. Must have completed at least 24 credits
3. Must be enrolled in a university for at least 12 credits
4. Must have consistent community service involvement

Question 3: Can I be a senior and become a member of Delta Sigma Theta?
Yes, anyone who meets intake requirements will be given equal consideration.
Question 4: How do I find out about events and are events invitation only?
All events are open to the public, and a monthly updated calendar of events can be located here

Question 6: If I do not go to Pitt, how do I become a member?
If you are not a registered student at the University of Pittsburgh, you can not pursue membership through this chapter. To find a chapter nearest you or at your school you can visit the regional website here.
Question 7: What are the goals of Delta Sigma Theta? (Five point thrusts)
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Thrust of:

1. Economic Development
2. Educational Development
3. International Awareness and Involvement
4. Physical and Mental Health
5. Political Awareness and Involvement
