These pages are meant to provide a guide to performing business research
at the University of Pittsburgh. Although it focuses on the resources
available on the main campus of the University of Pittsburgh, many
libraries will have the same or similar resources. Thus, individuals other
than those at Pitt may find these pages useful.
Resources include print materials, electronic databases purchased or
leased by university libraries, and selected internet resources. Library
locations are provided for the print resources and non-networked
databases. Links are included for those databases which are available
remotely and for all internet sites mentioned.
NOTE ON NETWORKED DATABASES: Unless otherwise noted,
networked databases are available
- in all University of Pittsburgh Libraries,
- from computers directly connected to the University's network, and
- from off campus when using the University's dial-in modem pool.
Networked databases, due to licensing
agreements, are only available to University of Pittsburgh students,
faculty, and staff. These resources will be identified as "Pitt only"
resources. Again, many other libraries will subscribe to these or similar
databases.
Both a frames and a non-frames index to these pages are provided. Due to
the number of links to related pages, networked databases, and internet
sites, the frames index is recommended for ease of returning to key Doing
Business Research pages.
