Defending Democratic Norms: International Actors and the Politics of Electoral Misconduct

Data

My book manuscript and related articles feature an original dataset on the ‘Enforcement of Democratic Electoral Norms’ (EDEN). These data record whether international actors respond to electoral misconduct with tools of conditionality, diplomatic missions, mediation and shaming. The data cover 14 international actors (12 regional organizations, the United States, and United Nations)  in 668 elections (covering 119 countries), from 1990-2007.
