1) Dr. Talbott greeted the new student member Johnathan White.
2) The approval of minutes
3) Dr. Talbott reviewed last month's information from Dr. Sam Conte concerning classroom allocation.
4) Discussion a formal response was received concerning the part-time faculty findings. It was reported that a temporary library ID card for part-time faculty can be obtained prior to validation of their faculty ID cards. The Chairs of the departments will be receiving a letter with this information for part-time faculty when they receive their letter of appointment.
Dr. Talbott circulated a letter from Provost Jim Maher, sent to the SEPC in which he addressed many of the issues of the part-time survey such as temporary library ID cards, mail distribution of instructional training to part-time faculty, and other communications/promotion and evaluations issues. It was motioned and seconded to send this letter and results to all part-time faculty. Fran Czak will expedite this mailing.
5) The Center for Teaching Excellence Fair was discussed briefly. There were 78 participants with about 10 different booths, and presentations of topics and results of Teaching Grants that are for innovative ideas.
6) It was suggested by Dr. Talbott to invite Dr. Diane Davis for a presentation at one of the SEPC Meetings. Dr. Davis is the Director of CIDDE.
Dr. Metzger also suggested the Committee may want to invite Jack Daniel or Ron Brown who is the head of Support Services.
7) Dr. Elizabeth Baranager presented and update on the VA IRB Wording change. The Certificate for Students, change states "when performing research required by my academic program" be added to the last sentence of the form Certification of Student Investigator Responsibilities.
8) Dr. T. Metzger motioned and K. Holzworth seconded the cancellation of next months meeting.
