SUMMARY OF MEETING:

1. The report concerning the part time faculty survey was handed out and read. Several changes were made, and the revised copy will be the one handed out and presented to the faculty assembly today at 3pm.

2. The minutes of the April meeting were also distributed and several changes were requested.

3. There was a discussion about what the committee hopes to achieve by presenting the results of the survey. It was mentioned that the SEPC hopes that this survey will be a wake-up call to the faculty and that some of the recommendations will be implemented. We are attaching the final revised copy of the results. These include the recommendations of the Faculty assembly. The information will also be presented on June 10th to Faculty Senate.

4. It was decided that Dr. Talbott would make a recommendation to the faculty assembly that the report be sent to the Provost for his opinion and action.

5. The April minutes were approved with the changes.

6. Mr. Metzger reported that the election for the position of Vice President of the University Senate was tied. This means that there will be a runoff in September. He also informed the committee that he had received a seat on SEPC again. Dr. Talbott also reported that she would also be on the SEPC again.

7. This was our last meeting for the summer. A notice will be sent in the fall about the next SEPC meeting. We are presuming that it will be the third Tuesday of September at noon ( 17th)
