04/18/08 Final exam room The Final exam will be held in Lawrence Hall 120, from 4:00-5:50pm on Tuesday April 22.

02/27/08 Solutions to Midterm I Solutions to the first midterm exam are posted in the Notes section below.

01/29/08 Room change on 02/01/08 On Friday, February 1st, class will meet in Posvar Hall 1700 (at the usual time) instead of Lawrence Hall. This room change is for one class only: From Monday February 4 onwards we'll be back in the usual classroom.

01/09/08 First homework assignment The first homework assignment has been posted in the Assignments section below. It's due on Wednesday January, 16.

Course Information

Some additional information that's not available above: All three exams (two midterms and a final) will be closed-book exams. Calculators will not be permitted on the exams. The final exam will take place on Tuesday, April 22 from 4:00pm to 5:50pm, in Lawrence Hall 120.

Homework Assignments

There will be weekly homework assignments. Homework will be posted on this webpage on or before the Wednesday of each week, and completed homework assignments will be collected by me at the beginning of class on the following Wednesday. You're encouraged to discuss homework problems with each other, but you should write up your solutions individually. Homeworks should be presented neatly and carefully. Late homeworks will not be accepted without prior arrangement (genuine emergencies excepted): if for some reason you think you won't be able to get your homework in on time, please come and discuss this with me before the due date.

Computer Labs

At 3:00pm on Wednesday of each week you'll meet in GSCC 126 to work in teams of two or three on computer assignments, using Maple 10. All team members should work together on each assignment: if one of your team is unable to be there, you should find a different time when you can all meet. The assignments can be found on the calculus server, here. There are some Maple Help worksheets available. I'll post the due dates for the lab assignments below; the due date is also given at the top of each assignment.
