Under the direction of and led by war surgeon and co-founder, Dr. Gino Strada, Emergency medical teams have entered war zones across the globe, in favor of war victims. Medical and surgical assistance and rehabilitation has been provided to more than 1.8 million people, to date.
Facilities are built and run by Emergency, and its services are free of charge, high standard and open to all those in need. Training for the medical and nonmedical personnel is provided in all of its facilities.
Emergency operates with overhead costs at approximately 6.16 percent.
