She received her B.A in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing Normal University, and received her M.A in Chinese Literature and Language pedagogy. Prior to joining the department, she taught at Brown University and Princeton University. She also taught in Princeton-in-Beijing Program (an Intensive Summer Language Program) in 2007. She specializes Chinese Language Pedagogy and Ming-Qing Novels.
