Publishing tasks

  1. Bambang is working on a paper on the methodology of accessibility measurement matrics. The paper is targeted to the Journal of the American Society of Information Science and Technology. He expected the paper to be done in September.
  2. Xiaoming is working on the paper on the evaluation of accessbility of health information web sites using the measurement matrics. The paper is targeted to the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association. He has complied most part of the paper and is going to do proofreading and edting soon next week.
  3. Al will organize his complexity study into a paper soon in next two weeks.
  4. Stephanie is working on the Master thesis proposal.

Web accessibility longitudinal study

  1. Al will modify his complexity code into a standlone program so that Stephanie can use it for testing the complexity of historic web sites
  2. Stephanie needs help from Sjarif to figure out how to crawl the websites at Internet Archive. The URL reformatting is the hardest part which may linked the end user back to the current page
  3. Crawler issue: Do we need to use the crawler from IE? AL will take a look at using IE to crawl the website and parse Web pages.

Funcationality of Microsoft Office

  1. Office has the function of testing the readability of a page and summariza a page. It can be used for quick prototyping
  2. He found that count of complex compents have correlaiton to the WAB socre.

Web accessibility gateway server

  1. Reza proposed a design of the transformation gateway server. He will establish the infrastructure first. Then will add individual transformational components into the transformer. The design can be viewed at here (need Microsoft Word)
