This project:

Objective:
The development of new synthetic methods for creating large numbers chemically anisotropic nano- and mesoscale structures.
Significance:
Manufacture of complex micron-scale objects will require the self-assembly of sub-micron components. The assembly of these components can be controlled by their surface chemical features. Our research evaluates new ways to label microspheres and nanotubes with chemically distinct domains.

Progress:
1)
We have succeeded in printing 1 micron patches on 10 micron spheres.
