CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA REGISTRATION INFORMATION 1995 Annual Meeting, June 22-25, 1995, Denver, Colorado, USA The 1995 annual meeting of the Classification Society of North America (CSNA) will be held in Denver, Colorado from June 22-June 25, 1995 at the Executive Tower Inn, 14th and Curtis Streets. Tentative meeting plans include: * A repeat of CSNA's very successful Short course on INTRODUCTION TO CLASSIFICATION AND CLUSTERING: Thursday, June 22. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS AND FACULTY WHOSE RESEARCH IS TAKING THEM INTO THE AREAS OF CLASSIFICATION AND CLUSTERING FOR THE FIRST TIME. * Welcome reception : Thursday June 22, 6-8 PM. * Invited and contributed paper sessions from Friday morning, June 23 until Sunday noon, June 25, 1995. * CSNA annual banquet: Friday, June 23, 7-9 PM. * Guided walking tour of historic lower downtown Denver: Saturday, June 24, 4:30-6:30 PM. The annual meeting of the Board of Directors of CSNA will be held Thursday, June 22, from 7:30 - 9 PM. The society's general business meeting will be held Friday, June 23 from 5:00-6:00 PM. As is traditional at CSNA meetings, the conference will be interdisciplinary and informal. Abstracts of papers presented will be distributed at the meeting. We also hope to provide abstracts via the CSNA home page on the World Wide Web. Details will follow. Papers currently accepted for presentation discuss topics in classification and clustering from the perspectives of statistics, biology/medicine, the physical sciences, business, computer science, psychology, mathematics, and other fields. Special sessions on: * Classification and Clustering in Marketing (P. Green, and J. D. Carroll, organizers) * New Optimization and Neural Network Approaches to Discriminant Analysis, with Applications (F. Glover, organizer), * Neural Networks for Classification (M. Misra, organizer), * Model Selection Methods in Classification and Clustering (H. Bozdogan, organizer) * Authorship Attribution (D. Banks, Organizer) are planned. A Graduate Student Session (in which graduate students present their research and meet with mentors to review and discuss the work) will also be offered. TRAVEL AND LODGING: Participants should make their own arrangements for travel and lodging. The conference will be held at the Executive Tower Inn, 14th and Curtis Streets, Denver. A block of rooms has been reserved until June 5, 1995 at the rate of $68 plus tax for single occupancy, $78 plus tax for double occupancy. Denver is served by AMTRAK, several bus lines and most major airlines, including United, American, Delta, Continental, and others.
