New Directions Grant:
In October 2004 the University of Pittsburgh was awarded a $200,000, two-year Community Outreach Partnership Center New Directions Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of University Partnerships. This grant will deepen the work of the University's Community Outreach Partnership Center in neighborhoods surrounding the Oakland campus - Hazelwood, Central Oakland, South Oakland, West Oakland, and Oak Hill.
It will also allow the COPC to pursue three new initiatives:
1) Active Living and Youth Development,
2) Community Organizing for Public and Environmental Safety, and
3) A Neighborhood Database.
Please view our COPC New Directions video for more information on these exciting initiatives and our university-community partnerships.
