ABOUT THE CENTER.  The Clinical Psychology Center is the
training clinic for the Clinical Psychology Graduate Program of the
Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. The
Clinical Psychology Program has been accredited by the American
Psychological Association to train doctoral-level clinical
psychologists since 1948. Evaluation and treatment services in the
Clinical Psychology Center are provided by advanced graduate students,
who are supervised closely by licensed faculty psychologists and
other clinicians from the community.
FEES.  As a provider of low-cost services, we make every effort to accommodate clients' financial needs and utilize a sliding fee scale, based on income. Students at the University of Pittsburgh may also wish to contact the University Counseling Center, where they may be eligible for free services.
CONFIDENTIALITY.  The content of all counseling
sessions is entirely private and is never divulged, except in extremely
rare circumstances, such as emergencies defined by state and federal
law. For more information about policies and practices related to the
privacy of your health information, click here.
CURRENT AVAILABILITY. As of summer 2008, adults, children, and families seeking
treatment are likely to be scheduled very quickly for a first therapy session.  Because we have
a long assessment waiting list at present, those seeking assessment services may not be seen for a
number of months.
SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS.  During working hours you can
reach the Clinical Psychology Center at
412.624.8822. When you
call, one of our staff will conduct a telephone intake interview in
order to facilitate an appropriate client-therapist match. If no-one is available
to take your call, or if you call after hours, please feel free to leave a confidential message on our voice mail. In the case of an emergency, we ask that you contact Western Psychiatric
Institute and Clinic, at 412.624.2000. Click here
