Student Health Service Staff
1997-98

Carol Mulvihill, RN,C, BSN, (photo at left)has been the Director of Health Services at Pitt-Bradford for 24 years, assisting students in assessment and treatment of health problems, and tending to the administrative duties of the Health Center. This year, the Health Center assumed the additional responsibility for the Hepatitis B/Bloodborne Pathogen Training and Vaccine Program for pitt employees.
Bonnie McMillen, RN, BSN, College Health Nurse, Part-Time (10 hrs./wk.) joined the Health Service Staff in September 1997. She was formerly the Utilization Review Coordinator for Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC). Her diverse areas of experience in nursing include the Visiting Nurses Association, Medical-Surgical nursing, telemetry unit, and mental health. In addition, she has been a clinical instructor for the BOCES nursing program. Bonnie has a particular interest in alternative medicine, particularly herbal remedies and reflexology. She researched and authored a patient information sheet on Vinegar: Ancient Medicine and Popular Home Remedy, which was placed in the health literature rack in the Self-Care Center and was also published in the Summer 1998 issue of Connections Quarterly.
Cindy Cavallero, Administrative Secretary (25% Health Services)has served the Student Health Service for 22 years. Cindy (photo at left) has responsibilities for implementation of the immunization policy of the university, and for coordination of medical clinics on campus, as well as coordination of student visits and inquiries in the Health Service area.In addition, Cindy has been enrolled in classes to increase her already excellent computer skills.
Dilbagh Singh, M.D. and V. Rao Nadella, M.D., continue as Campus Physician for the Student Health Service. Dr. Singh has been with the Student Health Service since 1979, and Dr. Nadella since 1984. This year, Sricharan Kantipudi, MD, joined the practice of Srs. Singh and Nadella and also joined our team of campus physicians. He completed Internal Medicine residencies in Hyderabad, India and in Bronx, NY, and also conducted research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
Graduate Assistant, Melinda Moz, (photo at left) who was enrolled in a Master's Degree program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, worked three days per week in the various divisions of Student Affairs, including Housing, Student Health Services, Career Planning, and Student Activities, gaining experience in programming and leadership. She was assigned to a special creative project using internet reasources to update the health information files for the student health service. Melinda also served as the coordinator of a very successful Health Fair held on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in April.
Freshman undergraduate student Carla Peterman (photo at left) served her second year as office assistant and manager of the Self-Care Center in her 9 hours-per-week work-study position in Health Services. Carla has been accepted by the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, where she will continue her studies in September 1998.
