Flu Shot Clinic

On October 27, 1997, the Student Health Service arranged and publicized a Flu Immunization Clinic on campus. Creative E-Mail notices about the flu immunization program, including information from the CDC web site about flu shots and who should be immunized, were sent to the faculty-staff distribution list. Posters were placed in all buildings on campus. In addition, Director Carol Mulvihill was interviewed by Chris Mackowski for a WESB radio station broadcast about flu immunization. The Department of Occupational Health of the Bradford Regional Medical Center administered flu shots in the lobby of the Commons to faculty, staff, and students at a cost of $10 each. A total of 70 flu shots were administered.

Pitt-Bradford Student Health Service Website

Work on the Student Health Service web site began in 1996. Web pages have been written and formatted by Director Carol Mulvihill. The web site includes links to information including Health Center Hours, List of Services, Location, In an Emergency, The Health Service Staff, Immunization Requirement, Absentee Note Policy, and the 1996-97 Annual Report of the Student Health Service. It is a goal to have the links to the Self-Care Center for Colds completed in the near future, and to have health information handout sheets authored by the student health service staff available on the web site.
