Italy is one of the great wonders of the world.  An amazing country with lots of sights to see and things to do, no trip to Europe would be complete without seeing Italy.

When we went to Italy, we enjoyed our stay tremendously.  We visited a lot of the main areas that most people think of when they think of Italy.  We went to Rome and saw the Coliseum. We took a tour of Florence and greatly enjoyed all the wine tastings and galleries and of course Michelangelo’s David was quite an amazing sight.  We went to Venice, the city on water, with all the beautiful canals and cobblestone streets.  Of course, as any good tourist would, we took a gondola ride under the bridge of sighs, which yes did make us sigh.  We went to Tuscany, with all of its greenery and beautiful rolling hills.  We took bike rides and went for long walks just to enjoy the scenery.  We also saw some beautiful Medieval churches, some of the oldest buildings I had ever seen, and also the most beautiful.  After seeing all the must see spots in Italy, we also discovered some of the more remote areas of this beautiful country.

We spent some time in Umbria and stayed in the gorgeous Umbria villas.  If you ever visit Umbria, you will find that this is one of Italy’s best kept little secrets.  There are so many beautiful choices of rentals, from the fully equipped medieval farmhouses, to the luxurious country homes.  There is something for everyone in this scenic, remote area of Italy.

Next we spent time in the Le Marche villas.  Le Marche is a beautiful mountainous area with lots of skiing, and also some of the most incredible views I have ever seen.  A beautiful location to visit no matter what time of year, I am sure.

Cinque Terre Apartments were also incredible as far as accommodations and price.  For the money, we had an amazing apartment with a view that was unmatched.  We were overlooking the water off the edge of a cliff.  We sat in the mornings just watching in amazement as the sun would come up.  This was by far the best place that we stayed, in my opinion.

Be sure that your trip to Italy includes all the little remote places as well as all the tourist hot spots.  No matter where you choose to visit be sure to find some Italian villas to stay in.  The villas will provide you with that home away from home feeling that will allow you to see all the different sides of this beautiful country.
