What's New:
  • City of Pittsburgh Neighborhood Employment by Place of Work Profiles.
  • Allegheny County Economic Trends Report (for the Allegheny County Comprehensive Plan)... and if your eyes do not glaze over there is even a separate Allegheny County County Housing and Socio-Demographic Trends Report.
  • It's election season(again). Check out: Voting Patterns in Allegheny County or my old commentary: "Is Young Voter an Oxymoron?". Also, some new maps showing Democratic Party Registration in Allegheny County.. another of Republican Party Registration. Also, current summary of 2006 campaign finance reports for state house races.
  • Pittsburgh info online: Pittsburgh policy document collection
  • a few things added to the: Primer on Regionalism and Local Government Fragmentation in the Pittsburgh Region and Allegheny County
  • Old pictures but new online: Pictures of Duisburg, Germany's Landscape Park. which is the park made out of the abandoned Thyssen Steel Works. Sort of what they want the Carrie Furnace to become but a whole lot more. An American version of the same can be seen in my pictures of Seattle's Gasworks Park.
  • Not So New but....:

    Old PhotoContest:

    Zeiss

No, this is not what they did with the Zeiss Projector from Buhl Planetarium. This is in a shopping mall in Jena Germany, home of the Zeiss Company that built the projectors. Those who figured this out include Mike Madison (of Pittsburgh's Blog of Record: Pittsblog and who got the promised lunch out of the deal), also Matthew Clark and Andrew Falk.

    New new 'photo' contest..

This isn't a photo of course but anyone want to guess at what this image is (or was I suppose):

    Zeiss
