Research

While we are working on separate projects which approach different aspects of CBR, our research is closely related. We are all working towards improving models for CBR systems, and their development and application. Our research focus is on the following areas and projects:

CATO - Intelligent Tutoring for Argumentation: introducing better models for case-based argumentation..
SMILE - Textual CBR: bootstrapping case base development by using annotated case summaries and integrating background knowledge. For a discussion that focusses on the techniques useful for textual CBR, see the slides of a keynote talk by Steffi Bruninghaus, Kevin Ashley gave an invited talk about the Progress in Textual CBR, which focusses on the research issues and presents different approaches takes.
