My name is Charles Saunders, though I usually go by Charlie. I am an engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh. I am originally from Connecticut; I moved to Pittsford, a suburb of Rochester, New York, in 1999. I now call the city of Blue Ash, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, home. I attended Pittsford-Mendon High School and took many technology related courses related to Project Lead the Way and the Rochester Institute of technology (RIT). I took classes in design, drawing, computer aided drawing, computer integrated manufacturing, transportation, construction, and the principles of engineering. This experience helped to cultivate my interest in engineering and therefore helped bring me to Pitt. I also took computer science and took a summer course on the basics of HTML. These courses sparked my interest in computers and programming, an interest I plan to act on while attending college. I am currently considering majoring in Electrical or Computer engineering, as well as possibly double majoring in Economics or minoring in Computer Science.
I have a very large family living in a variety of places. All told, I have two brothers, four step brothers and four step sisters. They live in Connecticut, Oregon, New York and New Hampshire. I am the second youngest of the eleven children in my family.
In terms of hobbies, I play the occasional computer game, tennis, cards and Ultimate (Frisbee). I played JV and Varsity tennis for my school from 8th through 11th grade. I started playing Ultimate in the fall of my sophomore year of high school and have been playing all year round since. I started a traveling mixed youth club team in Rochester called BlueREY. I now play for Pittsburgh on En Sabah Nur.
