Brandon White (brw32@pitt.edu)

Hello. My name is Brandon White and I am currently a part of University of Pittsburgh's freshman engineering curriculum. I am from Dayton in Ohio, and came here to study in University of Pittsburgh's bioengineering program, in which I intend to major in. After I complete this program, I intend to pursue additional education so that I can become involved in medical research. I came to Pittsburgh because it is a major area for medical work, and as such would be a good place to pursue this career.

I have a few hobbies to share. One of my hobbies is taking walks and doing distance running through parks and around the city. I think this is a good thing to do because it allows me to relax and and take my mind of things, to prevent stress. Also, it is good excercise, and something that can keep me healthy as well. Other hobbies of mine include computers and drawing. Computers are very useful tools, and I often like to design simple add-ons for it in my spare time to enhance the programs already installed. In terms of drawing, I like to draw both layouts of buildings etc., as well as more artistic things, like drawing characters, landscapes, building exteriors, etc.

There are a few important virtues that I think are good to think about. One of these is patience. By being patient and spending just a little bit more time and effort on something, it could make a big differnce. Another is teamwork. It is important to work well with other people. Even though this may go against natural impulse, I find it is often better to be accepting and respectful of other people's unique personal ideas that may one may disagree with, which will avoid conflict and improve the way people work together. The last virtue to mention here is diligence and timeliness. By keeping organized and having a plan, even complex tasks will become simple. These are little things that can make a big difference for those that keep them in mind.

Thanks for reading. Have a nice day!

Project: Redesign of Health Clinic Space

The CHSC Health Clinic on Lawn Street is looking to redesign it's workspace. Currently, the use of space is inefficient, leading to a disorderly work area. Changes in the layout are necessary to improve the comfort and productivity of the workspace. Furthermore, the clinic seeks aesthetic improvements for a more professional appearance. The critical tasks are to find an ideal way to organize and store relevant items as well as designing an ideal work areas for those who work at the clinic.
