Dear Group;
It is expected to be snowing and chilly from next Monday onwards; during almost the whole week. By next Saturday, in addition, everybody in the group will have made their presentations for the Surface Science Course. So we should use this chance to celebrate this important event by organizing a ski trip which we have been looking forward to for quite a while. I am proposing the Hidden Valley ski resort. (I chose this particular one for a slightly selfish reason -I have a monthly pass and would like to use it up)
I propose meeting at the Turnpike exit at 10am, so that we can rent the skis together.

Driving directions may be obtained from the resort web-page. But I'll repeat them here: It takes about 1 hr. There will be lots of signs and ski-equipment rentals; you won't get lost.
1. Take I-376 to Monroeville (EAST)
2. Follow I-376 (coincides with route 22) till the entrance to the Turnpike.
3. Once on the turnpike, take the road leading to HARRISBURGH (EAST), NOT to OHIO! Go EAST until exit #9 (Donegal)
4. Upon exiting the turnpike, turn left towards "Falling Water"
5. Follow Route 31 East for about 6-10 miles straight up to the resort.
Costs:

The cheapest places to rent the equipment are those ON THE ROAD from the turnpike exit to the ski resort. $8.50 - $12.00 depending on the place.(Cost of rental at the resort is about twice as much.)
2. Lift ticket costs $40.00 for daylight, $30.00 twilight.
