Research Interests

My primary research interest is to better understand the multiplicity of factors that influence the development of expertise in the domains of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. My approach to this broad issue is to apply a combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses to four interrelated fields of research: individual learning, human tutoring, peer collaboration, and scientific reasoning.
