The Live Cell Imaging Lab is located at Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC)
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in the Rangos Research Building. UPMC is one of the nation's outstanding
medical centers and ranks among the top 10 recipients in the United States for National Institutes of Health funding. The
SCRC is directed by leading stem cell biologists, Dr. Johnny Huard, the Henry J. Mankin Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery
Research and co-director Dr. Bruno Peault, Professor of Pediatrics, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Researchers at the Live Cell Imaging Lab also actively collaborate with members of the McGowan Institute for
Regenerative Medicine (MIRM). The MIRM is a nationally recognized regenerative program, under the direction of
Dr. Alan Russell, where leading scientists and clinical faculty work to develop tissue engineering, cellular therapies,
biosurgery and artificial and biohybrid organ devices.
