The Blue and Gold Society is a group of undergraduate student leaders that interact with our finest alumni, PAA staff, the student body, and Blue and Gold officers. Members of the Blue and Gold society serve as the link between the 253,000+ alumni worldwide and the student body. Admission into the Blue and Gold Society requires a balance of academic achievement, Pitt Pride, exceptional leadership skills and social skills.

I had the honor of being inducted as a freshman into the Blue and Gold Society, and it is an honor I hold with much prestige. Admission into the Blue and Gold Society is special, as it enables students to develop life long relationships with some of the great and distinguished alumni from our university. Just as the alumni are important to the Blue and Gold Society, so then is the student body, as we are their ambassadors to the Pitt Alumni Association. We exist because of the relationship between the students and the alumni of our herald institution, and we are here for the students in order to establish a life-long relationship with our alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh.

It is a great distinction to become a “BG,” and I invite the student body to apply. Applying to the Blue and Gold Society has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my lifetime and has given me the chance to give back to the university I love and cherish. The friendships I have made through Blue and Gold Society have been wonderful, especially with the alumni staff, who work so hard to help us.
