My name is Brian Phillips, and I am
a PhD candidate in the Department
of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh. In the
summer of 2011, I started an assistant professor position
at the Center for
Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) in Mexico City. I
study
international relations, comparative politics, and political
methodology. My dissertation explores terrorist group
longevity,
and I argue that organizational attributes and relationships (networks)
between
terrorist groups are crucial and overlooked determinants of terrorist
group survival.
Before starting
college, I
served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years.
My personal website at CIDE is here,
and I plan to migrate to that URL later this school year.
