Local Bus Transportation
With much thought to the future, the University of Pittsburgh has arranged for free transportation throughout
Allegheny county via the PAT bus system. Any bus - any time, any where - is free, including those heading :
- Downtown: the 61, 67 and 71 routes pick up right in front of the CLC complex
- To Duquesne University: same buses will do; the 61's, 71's and 501 pick up- right in front of Duquesne to bring you back. Great for seminars
- To the research labs at Allegheny General Hospital on the north side: The 54C runs right up there. A cross-town bus, the 54C also visits the strip district
(for shopping or night-clubbing) and heads to the south side
- To the Airport: the 28X gets there in about 40 minutes.
- To work or home; buses to Squirrel Hill (like the 61C) run all night, and even outlying areas are served (like Monroeville byt the 67A, picture to the left)
This benefit saves students the cost of monthly bus passes or parking permits. You can download PDF bus schedules directly from the
PAT web site.

(see map to the right).
You can get to and from these stations using any of the local buses that serve both downtown and the Oakland area. Just search the
PAT web site to find the bus that's right for you.
To find your way around the greater Pittsburgh area after arrival, consult our handy local maps and directions.
