  Housing for PLE Researchers

cabin exteroir

Can you imagine a more picturesque location to live while conducting research or teaching a field course?

There are countless amenities along with your beautifully furnished quarters that will make your stay at PLE like a home away from home. Faculty and graduate students have the pleasure of residing in cabins or apartments right on Pymatuning Lake - where the sun sets over the water and you can wake up to Bald Eagles soaring above!

All of our residences are equipped with microwaves, stoves, refrigerators, dishes, utensils and cookware.

If you have undergraduate researcher assistants, they also can live on the shores of the lake nearby in the Bald Eagle dorms. The dorms have four beds, a bathroom, and a nearby well-equipped kitchen. The entire lake-shore housing site is served by high-speed, wireless internet.

While apartments and cabins have full kitchens, schedules sometimes get hectic. No worries: delicious catered meals are available in the Dining Hall while the field courses are running (mid May to early August). Within close proximity are grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and tourist attractions.

And we can't leave out the recreational opportunities: at the Housing Site there are canoes, kayaks, a volleyball court, and a horseshoe pit. In the Recreation Hall there is a fireplace, satellite television, pool table, foosball table, and ping-pong table. Nearby are beaches for swimming and trails for hiking, biking, bird watching, and running. To unwind in the evening there is a campfire with plenty of students, instructors, and fellow researchers with which to socialize.

Our PLE staff will make you feel welcome and help you anytime. Feel free to contact us with questions or inquiries about housing availability.
