Benjamin Ganis

Welcome

I was a graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh from Fall 2005 to Spring 2010. During that time I worked as a Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, and was awarded an Andrew Mellon Predoctoral Fellowship.

I successfully defended my Ph.D. Thesis in Numerical Analysis on April 8, 2010 under the supervision of my advisor, Dr. Ivan Yotov. My thesis is titled "Multiscale methods for stochastic collocation of mixed finite elements for flow in porous media". It proposes and analyzes new methods for increased tractibility in uncertainty quantification.
