Benjamin Ganis
Welcome
I have been a graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh since Fall 2005. During that time I have been both a Teaching Assistant and a Research Assistant, and I am currently an Andrew Mellon Predoctoral Fellow.
I will be completing my Ph.D. in Numerical Analysis in April 2010 under the supervision of my advisor, Dr. Ivan Yotov. My thesis is titled Multiscale methods for stochastic collocation of mixed finite elements for flow in porous media. It has been an investigation into methods for increased tractibility in uncertainty quantification.
Research Interests
- Numerical Analysis of PDEs
- Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Finite Element Methods
- Parallel Computation
