This album has a curious history. It was recorded in 1962 but not released until after Ellington's death in 1974. It contains Ellington arrangements of many Big Band Era songs that were made famous by people other than Duke Ellington. The Ellington stamp is all over this album, however, because of his easily identifiable soloists.
